Artist Profile - Andrei Borisov
Andrei Aleksandrovich Borisov was born in the village of Fedoskino on 12 June 1962. His parents were not artists, but Andrei decided he wanted to be an artist as his career. He attended the Fedoskino Lacquer Miniature Art School from 1977-1981. His teachers were S. P. Rogatov, P. N. Macheev, and B. P. Gorodilin. |
Borisov's art has been displayed in Moscow, in the prestigious Krimskii Val, the large exhibition hall where leading modern artists display their works. His lacquer art has been published as a calendar in Germany. Examples of his work are held in the Fedoskino Factory Museum.
Borisov's favorite themes are fairy tales, architectural landscapes and genre scenes of country life. He prefers to paint only original compositions, not copies. He considers himself to be a well-rounded artist with many strengths.
Borisov lives in Fedoskino. His wife, I. P. Borisova, is an artist as well. He has a fifteen-year old son, Aleksei, as well. In his spare time, Borisov enjoys soccer.
