Artist Profile - Roman Chibisov

Roman Chibisov represents the new generation of Palekh artists who will take this time-honored tradition of Russian art into the 21st century. Chibisov was born in August 1975 in the town of Elektrostal, not far from Moscow where he grew up with his parents. In 1997 he graduated Palekh art school and is already creating lovely and original lacquer miniatures and icons. Not long ago, Chibisov also participated in the icon painting in the Church of the Ascension in the town of Electrostal. He shares his time between his hometown Electrostal and Palekh. Chibisov is serious and ambitious about his career. He is a neat, punctual and modest young gentleman. We wish Roman Chibisov good luck and success in the new millenium! |
