A knot of warmly dressed women gather around the an opening in the icy surface of a frozen river. Snow or no snow, water must be gathered, and clothes must be washed! Luckily, it seems that local gossip has turned this otherwise unpleasant task into an impromptu social gathering. This box is made of high quality papier mache and is signed on the lid with the title, artist's name, and village. There is a hinge on the left, and the interior is red lacquer.
