The Moscow River and the Kremlin in winter are shown on this box by Fedoskino artist Lanev. What goes on behind these walls only Putin, and maybe Medevev, know for sure. The sky is mostly overcast, but with an application of shiny gold leaf to the bricks of the bridge and top parts of the trees, the artist creates an illusion that the sun has just broken through the clouds. The scene is framed with a line ornament on the top and another one on the sides. If one really wanted to be picky, there is a two very small areas where the gold line has been broken up slightly by black paint, but it would truly be very hard to hold this against the box. It has a hinge at the top and red interior. It lies flush on the surface of the table and is signed with the name of the artist and year.
