The splendid architecture of the church in Kholui is drawn on this box by the artist Yu. Komyakov, also from this village. The tiny man in the foreground and a dog are almost lost in the drawing, but perhaps serve to accentuate the majestic quality of the church before them, despite the fact that it is not close to being one of the larger ones in Russia. It's a quiet scene and the artist beautifully paints it with subtle nuances in color and light. The box is made out of high quality papier mache, has a hinge at the top, and sits on four small round legs. It is signed with the name of the artist (Khomyakov), title and village.
