This dark red hairpin that shows Ivan catching the firebird is not only functional, but an exquisite work of art, too. It was done by Palekh artist Mikhail Nebogatov and is made out of papier mache with a wooden pin. There are delicate gold lines throughout the drawing, and a beautiful gold and silver ornament on the sides. A classy piece of jewelry for one's hair.
