"Fall" is shown here as a young maiden with braids and golden leaves on her head. Her expression seems to be one of contentment, the joyous days of summer are over, but she is happy and resigned to the coming of winter. Like "Spring" by the same artist, the details are incredible and extremely well done. The reds and golden colors of autumn are reflected in the leaves and her dress, and the vivid colors become more subtle as they fade into the distance. The light palette used in the background hints at the snowy season ahead. The sides and bottom have a beautiful coppery phosphorescence to them. The box is made out of high quality papier mache and has a hinge at the left. It is signed with the name of the artist and village.
