This little box by one of Fedoskino's most notable artists, Nikolaj Zotov, shows Ivan trying to stay on a beautiful white horse, which is mostly likely one that had trampling the wheat field of his family in the fairy tale "The Humpbacked Pony". The dynamic image of Ivan trying riding the animal, combined with the bright silver leaf background that lights up the sky, makes this box truly stunning, and a great box for anyone collecting the major lacquer box artists. The border around the drawing is white, and the rest of the outside of the box is black. The interior is red. The box has is made out of high quality papier mache and lies flat on the surface of the table. The box is signed on the top with the name of the artist. A sensational attention-getting piece!
