Lovely work from village of Mstera showing a scene from Tale of the Humpbacked Pony. A very talented lacquer box artist did this one, and you can tell by the fine details and quality workmanship. The viewer's attention is focused on Ivan and the Tsar Maiden in the center, but don't miss that delightful long eared pony emerging from the background. The box has a sharply drawn ornament along the time, and another one around the sides. It is made out of high quality paper mache and has a hinge. The interior is red. The Mstera archer symbol is seen on the bottom o the box. Signed with the name of the artist, village and title.
