This small box from Fedoskino shows a three horse sleigh - a troika - rushing a group of people through the countryside at a break neck pace. The scene is very cute and dynamic, though the passengers don't seem to be too scared of the brisk ride. There is a small ribbed piece of mother of pearl placed in the road in front of the horses and it has a nice iridescence to it. The sides and bottom are black. The box is made out of paper mache and it looks like it dates back to sometime in the 80s, though there is no date. It is signed with the name of the artist and village.
