A Russian orthodox church is drawn into a picturesque winter scene with small houses on the top and sides. The church has four blue cupolas, and finely drawn orthodox crosses can be seen on the top of each. There are two small inlays of mother of pearl, one in the body of the church itself, the other in one of the clouds. The landscape continues all around the sides, and there is even one under the lid (not pictured here). The box sits flat and has a hinge. It is signed with the name of the artist, and village. On the bottom of the box is the insignia of the Fedoskino village. A lovely scene and great value!
