The beautiful architecture of the village of Kholui is painted on this rectangular box from Kholui artist A. Dontsov. With the village church in the center and small houses around it, combined with the cool wintry setting, the drawing has that quintessential Russian look and feel to it. Very well done throughout with beautiful colors and fine details. A gold border frames the scene, while a slightly more elaborate gold and silver border adorns the sides.

The box is made out of high quality papier mache, has a hinge, and a red interior. It sits on four small roundish legs. Written at the bottom of the drawing is the artist's name, the village where it was done and the title.
