This box shows Emelya pulling the smiling magic pike from the hold in the ice. The fish will have many miracles in store for the young lad, which you can read here. The traditional box is done quite well for the price, and the rich gold ornament on the top and sides is very handsome. The box is made out of papier mache and has a hinge at the top. The interior is red. It is signed with the name of the artist, village and year.
