A handsome young man, representing the month of March, helps the pretty girl find flowers to fill a basket. Without the flowers, her stepmother won't even allow her back home. Fedoskino artist Veselov created a very endearing scene. Most colors are soft and gently nuanced, but the radiant gold of the man's staff and some of the surroundings provides some dazzle to break through the quiet atmosphere. Some gold leaves flow over to the sides, as well. The faces of both the young man and woman are perfectly formed and are quite three dimensional and realistic. The green and olive background on the sides gradually turns to black.

The box is made out of high quality papier mache and does not have a lid. It is signed with the name of the artist, village and year. On the bottom of the box is written "Made in USSR". The box also comes with a factory certifcate.
