Near the end of each year, we at Lacquerbox.com have decided to look back upon the year and pick out some pieces that really need a second look. The term "boxies" admittedly has a somewhat comical sound to it. (And please don't look in the "urban" dictionary for a definition. You can probably guess!) But the word was short and sweet, and we thought it was fitting while not having any of the stuffiness that comes with other parts of the art world. So there you have it -- the boxies.

In the case of the "Best Box" category, many of the boxes will have naturally been sold already. The lacquer box gems often do go very quickly. The other categories, though, will feaure boxes that are still available (as of this writing), so they are indeed fair game to add to your collection. Look everything over and see what you think. p.s. We thought about calling these lacquer box awards another logical made-up word, the "lackies". Well, for about 2 seconds we thought about it!
