This box gracefully pulls together four scenes from the Russian fairy tale "Twelve Months". Although the grouping of "months" on the left hand side reveals only months of them, the twelfth month is actually there on the right, helping the banished girl find the flowers she needs. This long rectangular box is colorful, spirited, nicely detailed and even functional as you can put your finest pen inside. A nice gold and silver ornament decorates the side of the box. There is a hinge and the interior is red. It is made out of high quality papier mache and the sits on four small roundish legs. Signed at the bottom with the name of the artist, village and title.
