Tradestone Gallery realizes that beginning a lacquer box collection is a challenge, and we know that some collector's tastes change enough over time to the point where some of their earlier purchases may no longer fit into the style of their collection. Now Tradestone Gallery (lacquerbox.com) gives you the opportunity to trade in some of your earlier purchases in order to buy something more suitable for your tastes today.
Trade-Up Offer Details
- The box(es) that you wish to trade in must have been purchased from us after the year 2000.
- The credit for the box(es) will be for the original price paid, less a service charge of 20%.
- The new box chosen must have an internet price of at least 20% above the original value of the trade-in (or sum total of the two trade-ins).
- No more than 2 boxes may be traded in for a higher priced box. At present, we are limiting this promotion to one trade-in transaction per customer.
- Collectors' Club and other discounts will not apply to this promotion. Figures are calculated only on the actual price that you paid for your trade-in(s) and the internet price of the box desired.
- The box must not have sustained any outside damage, except for aging of the artwork. A few scratches on the bottom of the box may be okay, but please, no boxes that your dog has chewed!
- Customer must send box(es) to Tradestone Gallery at her or her expense. (We strongly recommend some type of delivery confirmation or insurance, as well.) Shipping and handling charges are not figured into the value of the trade-ins, but standard shipping rates ($3.85 priority mail) will be applied to all shipments.
- Tradestone Gallery reserves the right to resolve any dispute about pricing or damage to the box.
- All transactions during this promotion are final, and boxes may not be returned or exchanged again.
- This promotion may continue indefinitely, but Tradestone Gallery also reserves the right to discontinue it at any time.
Got it? Perhaps the best way to do this is by several examples.
- Example 1 - You bought a $400 box 3 years ago that no longer fits in your collection. You can trade-up to any box $480 or over ($400 + 20%). You will receive $320 for your trade-in ($400 - 20%). Thus, if you did see a $480 box that you liked, you would actually only pay $160 for it (plus $3.85 shipping), in addition to returning the unwanted box.
- Example 2 - You have two boxes that you would like to trade in. You bought them 2 years ago for $50 and $90, or $140 in total trading value. You can trade-up to any box priced at $168 or higher ($140 + 20%). You will receive a credit of $112 for your trades ($140 - 20%). Thus, if you decided on a box for $200, you would have out-of-pocket expenses of $88 (plus $3.85 shipping), plus the return of the two boxes.
- Example 3 - You have three boxes that you want to trade in. Sorry, you will have to narrow this to 2 boxes, since this is the maximum number of trade-ins that we are doing at this time.
