Night flying swans skim the elaborate spires of Kizhi's famous wooden churches. A soft palette of rich earth tones creates a tranquil moonlit warmth, with tiny golden accents lending sparkle. A strong sense of motion is created by the composition, inviting the eye to wheel through the night sky as though on wing. The box is nicely painted, with lots of charming details. This box is made of high quality papier mache and is signed on the lid with the title, artist's name (Kuznetsova), and village. There is a hinge at the top, and the interior is red lacquer.
