The maiden may have gone for water, but it seems she has been literally swept off her feet by a dashing fellow in a troika on her way home! Despite being startled enough to drop her heavy buckets, she smiles as the rogue wraps his arm around her waist to sweep her into the sled. A little dog snarls at the horses, causing them to panic, and adding to the energy of the scene. This box is made of high quality papier mache and is signed on the lid with the title, artist's name (L. Kosobryukhova), and village. There is a hinge at the top, and the interior is red lacquer. It rests on four curved legs. A lively work.--BOX1134
