A troika bounces gaily through the frozen countryside, the bells of the horses' harnesses dancing through the icy trees. The female passenger seems a bit wary of their speedy passage, and leans nervously towards her companion for reassurance. The scene is nicely painted in frosty blues with vivid warm accents. A swirling border of gold rings the scene, creating the strong sense of motion, and is repeated on the sides. This piece is made of high quality papier mache and is signed on the lid with the title, artist's name (Panova), and village. There is no hinge, and the interior is red lacquer.
